Happy Dance!!

By Leesa Gabel

You can’t see me, but I’ve been doing a happy dance the last couple of days! :)

This has been a really great week for me. I just completed week six of Boot Camp. To date I’ve not missed one single class — that’s got to be some kind of record for me. I’m actually sad that I’ll miss next Friday’s class, but I console myself with two thoughts — 1) I’ll be in CO with my family and 2) my 6AM class is cancelled so I’m not really missing anything since there’s not a class to miss.

I’m feeling GREAT lately! My blood sugars are down, my clothes are fitting looser and I don’t mind waking up at 5AM three times a week. The last items still blows my mind. I only needed to give Boot Camp a three-month committment, but I’m going to give more. An indefinite committment. I just love the class so much and I seriously doubt that I’d do any of the exercising on my own….so I’ll continue to go and push myself (and Kansas).

Other news….I GOT A JOB!! After months of searching, a dear friend helped me get my foot in the door. I’ll be doing something that I love — writing. Writing from the comfort of my home (for the most part) and getting paid!!! I’m the luckiest woman!!

I am happy!!

Back into the workout

By Craig Gabel

I started back to the daily workout routine today. I lost my motivation after Redman. Luckily Leesa just took off like a rocket right about the time I hit rock bottom. I am so proud of her. It’s hard for me to not do anything while she is working her butt off everyday. It’s time I took her inspiration and used it for myself. Up until now I have been telling everyone I know how great she is doing and that has motivated some other folks but it just didn’t set into my personal motivation. I am not sure why. She’s the WOMAN! I am extremely inspired by her actions, now hopefully I can turn that inspiration into action for my own benefit.

I am so proud of my wife

By Craig Gabel

Leesa is so inspiring to me right now. She has really kicked her active lifestyle into gear. She’s going to boot camp 3 days a week and loving it. She still comes home tired but never complains. She is glowing everyday and is looking great. I feel like I have really slacked off the last few weeks. Aside from the Mahaffie Half Marathon last weekend I haven’t done a whole lot. I think it’s time to get back to the gym. Our poor son has been out of commission due to a broken arm. I am so looking forward to getting him back to the gym and was hopeful to do that this coming week but he had to have his arm reset and will have a cast for another 4 weeks. I will try my best to not let that keep me from the gym. I had set my priorities during the weekdays to spending time with my family. I still have family way up at the top of my list but I need to get some workout time in there as well. Disney marathon weekend is quickly approaching and the Goofy race and a half challenge awaits me. I don’t know what I was thinking when I signed up for only my second marathon ever and I am going to finish a half marathon the day before…I must be crazy!
